John Paul Sharp is back with 25 new musical recordings in a double-disc album called, “Pleasurrection,” releasing on January 27, 2019 through Spotify and other online music retailers. Watch JP sing the album live on their Pleasurrection Tour at Gallery1412 on January 27 and Copious on February 9.

This is a collection of all the new songs I wrote and performed at my free monthly concerts last year. There are also a handful of tracks I’d been working on throughout several years. It is the resurrection of my true pleasure in life: making music. It’s the core of who I am and I’m bringing myself back out into the forefront after many years of doing other things creatively.

My vision for the album cover was to show you, in as much real and raw detail, who I am. I’m holding my cat, Sylvester, because he’s been such a large part of my life for 14 years. You see a real image of Venus behind me because the majority of these songs are about love, relationships, and living my best life. That’s what Venus represents, and these songs represent my journey into truly getting “Back to Me,” a journey which was not quick, nor easy.

I had no idea at the beginning of 2018 that I’d end up putting this work together, but it was something I desperately wanted and needed. I’ve always used music as a way to process my emotions and experiences and so I need to release that music so I can move forward in my life and continue to create new works of art.

Thank you for listening and I hope to see you watch me perform it live in January and February. While I am an artist for my own quality of life, I aim to connect with others and share my gift of love and music.
