This is the entire performance of Strangers. It was performed in April of 2010 by the University of Colorado Denver's Theatre Buffs. It is a sci-fi, slam poetry musical and I feel honored to have contribute my talent to the project. I had always wanted to work with hip-hop and urban influenced music and this was my perfect opportunity.
LYRICS:
Henry:
I wish I knew
What it is that I should do
Which course is right?
Do I help or do I fight?
'Cause all I want is to feel
Needed, Someone Special
I don't want to harm him
I just want to live
Alex:
All I wanted was to blend
Be accepted, be a friend
Why can't that be enough?
Follow orders, follow through
I'm a puppet, not a fool!
Why is this so tough?
'Cause I don't think it's right
Life is not so black and white
We are of a spectrum
So why this disconnection?
Alex & Henry sing simultaneously:
Alex:
You will never see me for who I am
That's what it feels like to give a
You will never see me for who I am
That's what it feels like to give a
Damn.
Henry:
I am caught, I am lost
And I don't know what to
I am caught, I am lost
And I don't know what to
Think.
